The Bayside from Kent Bicycles is a hot rod cruiser that looks fast standing still. Lean and mean is the name of the game with a flat black cantilevered steel frame, sweet red rims and fenders and swept back handlebars. Shimano provides the seven-speed drivetrain with easy twist shifters, and front and rear alloy sidepull handbrakes keep this wildcat under control. Comfy rubber bumper suspension seat for longer adventures and the seat height is quickly adjusted with no tools courtesy of the seat post clamp lever. - I bought this bicycle for my son. He is on a work release program and this is his only mode of transportation. A couple of other fellow inmates had purchased this bike, too. They seemed to be happy and pleased with it, themselves. My son asked me to look at it and to make the purchase. I was a little skeptical seeing the price of the bike. I went to the store and checked it out. I was, mildly, surprised with the quality of the bike. My son has had the bike for some time and seems very pleased with it. He says it is a very comfortable ride and very efficient. Keep in mind, when I say son, I am not talking about a boy, or a teenager. I am talking about a full grown man around 40 and heavy set. That was my main concern when I purchased the bike. The weight capacity, which is 250 pounds. My son is coming close to that and as I mentioned above, he says it is a very comfortable and efficient ride. So, I am sold on the bike. By the way, my son paid me back for the purchase of the bike. I would recommend this bike to any one who wants a good bike for around $100. Thanks!
- Excellent choice for the money. I ride it 6 miles a day and it is a very comfortable riding bike. The handle bars a bit wide but I got used to them quickly, and they help me sit up verses leaning over which is better for my back.
- Have used this bike several times now and am thoroughly satisfied. Braking is swift and firm, and gears shift smoothly.
- Just this morning, I tried to shift down to 1 and the Shimano dérailleur self destructed. I only had this bike for a couple months (Put maybe 250 miles on it) and have replaced both tubes after trying to patch a few times. Tubes would split at the seams. Walmart replaced it without question, but I never would have suspected a shimano dérailleur to fold up like a cheap suit. I have been riding bicycles for more than 65 years.
