- this is a nice size kettle to cook larger amounts of food than the original presto kettle. the only problem is that the top needs to have a vent and it could fit a little better. the basket is nice but I think they need to make them stronger.
- I bought this for the various things this can be used for, primarily frying. It takes a lot longer to fry with this than my Fry Daddy Elite. I can still use it for soups and other things so not a total loss.
- I’ve made french fries and deep fried fish, all turned out great. what I like best is, there is no splatter. the oil level mark is down deep enough to not splatter over the top but still enough oil to cook an item correctly. The only thing I don’t like about it for other cooking is there is no steam vent in the lid.
- The versatility of the Kettle is great. AND it performs perfectly as a deep fryer, kettle, or steamer.
- Used it today for first time. Was nervous because other posts said it did not work well as a fryer. For me it did a great job. My preheat temp was 370 (so slightly shy of 400). Dropping the cold wings in caused a 100 degree drop. It slowly recovered to 320. 20 minutes was right time to get a dozen pretty crispy. The big container size was nice as it was more than enough to handle the initial boil surge.
- The best fried chicken I’ve ever made! The kettle made my wings extra crispy *^_^*! Oh My Goodness. Please ignore the low scoring reviews others have made. They may not have let the grease get hot enough. Can’t wait to steam stew roast and boil. This is kettle is amazing!
- My old pot finally gave up after eight years and I was so disappointed and so the search started. I found the kettle and I’m thrilled. These cooking vessels are so useful and free up a stove burner especially around the holidays. So – happy cooking!!!
- The heater temp light will go out and you put the food in the fryer and it is nowhere close to ready to fry.
