- After a left hip replacement and a right knee replacement, I am no longer able to ride a bicycle safely and have not done so in several years. However, I not only missed a pleasure I’d enjoyed since I was six, but the loss of exercise resulted in weight gain. This trike has been the answer to my problems. I’ve been riding first thing in the morning and again in the evening. My little dog loves riding in the basket and then walking in the park when we stop. As others have observed, there is a learning curve on steering if one has always leaned to turn on a bike. However, the key is to momentarily stop peddling, turn the handlebars and then peddle again. It will turn in a surprisingly tight radius and off you go. I was feeling very confident in less than half an hour. The single gear is showing me how out of shape I am, but that will change soon enough. I can’t comment on the assembly since I had the trike delivered to Walmart where a delightful associate, James, assembled it and helped my friend lift it into his pickup truck. Shipping to the store and the assembly were free. This was an early birthday present to myself, and despite the fact that I’ll be turning 67, I feel like a ten year old on Christmas morning. This trike is just a lot of fun!
- I rode my new tricycle for the first time today. My husband put it together for me a few days ago. Out of the box he noticed a dent in the left rear fender, no big deal, but still, for the price it should have been received in perfect condition. He did the “test” ride and found the tricycle was way out of alignment and would not turn to the right at all. He was able to make some adjustments and now the tricycle turns better. During my ride I found the tricycle always felt as if it was going to tip over, especially to the right. I have to lean left while riding to keep that from happening. Personally, I feel the rear wheelbase is too narrow and if it was wider, the tricycle would feel more stable. This is something my husband cannot adjust. I found the seat fairly comfortable, but my husband did not. I read many other comments about the seat not being comfortable, not cushioned enough, or not wide enough. I think Schwinn should take notice of this and make the seat a bit bigger and more well padded. Instead of making purchasers buy a different seat, they should just make it part of the original equipment. I am sure the age of purchasers and riders could use a little more padding for comfort while exercising or taking a fun ride.
- It was delivered late due to carton damage. Once it arrived, one of the back fenders had a big dent in it, which I decided to ignore. I progressed OK through assembly until I realized that they forgot to include the two back lug nuts. Went to three different bike stores before I figure out that they are not normal-sized nuts, and I ended up getting what I needed at the hardware store. Rear band brake was misadjusted, and required tweaking. The main sprocket assembly was pre-installed in the frame crooked, so I had to unbolt and re-mount that, after I had already assembled most of the trike. ONCE I got it put together, it’s a fine trike. But shoddy packing and shipping can make putting it together frustrating.

- The bicycle is great. It was very diffucult and many pieces to put together. Spent hours trying to get front tire on without hitting fender and had to call service and was told that one of the only parts pre-assembled, the fork, was put on backwards, so had to take apart some previous work done. The final product is great.
- one issue after the other and Schwinn will not help in anyway. These bikes are junk and put together like a toy Tonka. Would never recommend to anyone after returning TWO for full refund.
