Bought this to get by when central ac failed. It did a great job keeping living room comfortable until central ac replaced.
User-Friendly, Precise Temperatures and Great for Small Rooms. Arrived in Brand-New Condition which is paramount. Being a bit apprehensive due to previous purchases of Window Air Conditioners on eBay and Amazon, Walmart came through and is slowly becoming my go to for appliances and other stuff. This was our 3rd purchase the other 2 were returned with days. This was the quietest one the other 2 were not . This unit never came up in our search for quiet small ac. My husband in his frustration just purchased it. Price point was good. The remote should be designed better especially at 2 AMin the dark.remote is not intuitive should be laid our better, but the ac it self is great.
We needed this for a bedroom in our lake house – talk about cold! Working great so far. Has some fan noise which I expected but I slept well regardless.
GE is using styrofoam in the ducting of all of it’s air conditioners, at least according to their website. Styrofoam molds. The black mold that’s growing in my unit makes it to unsafe to use after only a couple months of use. GE’s recommendation is, “Thank you for your patience in awaiting our reply. Our research team has advised the styrofoam is typically resistant to mold and mildew. “We can’t recommend removing it, but a professional heating and air cleaning company could clean it.” This would cost about as much as the original cost of the a/c unit. Not a practical fix, not a practical a/c.
