• The two for one Smoke and Carbon Monoxide is a great buy. Two screws to install the base then twist the body onto the base. Come with instruction as to the best place to mount you detector. A must for unvented gas heaters.
• I love that it’s 2-detectors in one and that it’s designed to not go off when you get smoke from the kitchen to a small degree. The nuisance alarms were… a nuisance. So, this device prevents that! But at the same time, the testing, ability to change the batteries without removing the device, and the voice communication from it is really top-notch. Honestly, this device was the best that I could find that did not include SmartWiFi Technology (those prices ranged from $50-$200 each), but was the best quality detection available! Also, it was super easy to install! My only gripe is that it only came with 1 Red Screw Holder and the instructions didn’t mention why.
• Had one that came with the house. I think the production date on the back said 1999. Only reason we replaced it was because kids slamed the patio door and it fell off the wall and into the fish tank. It doesn’t like being submerged in water. Loved the first one and was happy to see it wasn’t a discontinued product!
• I am buying this as a replacement for an idential smoke/CO alarm as it had reached its “replacement date”. That earlier version had a 7-year replacement, and during that time, it never once gave a false alarm. Loved the system. Read the directions carefully, though, because if you exceed the “expiration date”, you lose the CO protection. The new one I bought (practically identical to the earlier one) has a 10-year expiration date from the time you put the batteries in. I can live with that! Plus, I didn’t have to replace the mounting bracket as the two versions were compatible. Made installation of the replacement unit extremely easy! Highly recommend this product.
• We ordered three Nighthawk smoke detectors by Kidde, but the units that we received seemed to provide the same features were not Nighthawk models. However, since they fit the same base that we had for our previous Nighthawk detectors, we decided not to go through the hassle of returning them and instead installed them.
