- This was one of the most fun sets that I have ever built! It always amazes me to find out that what starts out as a huge pile of bricks can turn into such a masterpiece where every single brick has a job. I only have a couple minor problems with it. First off, THE FEET ARE NOT RETRACTABLE. I only put that in bold so even if people are just skimming the reviews, they see it. Also, the minifigures will not fit through the entrance hatch. Lastly, I wish that it came with both the old and new crews because that would expand, maybe even double, the playing possibilities. I’ve tried just grouping together the minifigures I already have, but the problem is, I have a very scared looking Han Solo because he came with the Carbonite Freezing Chamber set. Over all, it is a great set with tons of play features that aren’t even mentioned. One last thing. Could somebody explain what the little cart that goes in the top is for? I think it’s for storing minifigures in the turret chambers.
- got this as a birthday present and i was so happy to receive it!! the build is very fun and not too tricky at all the size is big and what i expected which is great (bigger the better). it was definitely a morning well spent and will keep any lego builder occupied. very pleased with the end result and looks great with my other star wars sets! minifigures are also very good.
- This is such a wonderful set! The price can seem daunting, however the set is about a foot and a half long and a foot wide, so it’s quite large. I love all of the special recognizable pieces, such as the holochess table. Yes, stickers are used for most pieces with designs, but I personally feel that the decals do the trick. The only issue I ran into was that it was difficult to put the nose piece on the end of the cockpit, but with some effort and a little switcheroo of the steps in the blueprints, I managed to pop it on. Another drawback is that Chewie can’t fit in the cockpit because he’s too tall, but it is nice that 2 average sized figures can fit. The design of the set is very clever, you simply flip up each panel on the top compared to one single large lid. There are quite a few minifigures, even two “villains” that aren’t very well known, but it’s a nice touch to be able to reenact scenes from the new movie. Overall this is a great set for Star Wars fans young and old!
- I have always been a fan of the Millennium Falcon and since the Apollo Saturn V was not available at the time, I decided to pick this up instead since I was in the mood for a build. I had previously built a Y-Wing and figured that at 1,300+ pieces, this would be a good intermediate build for me since I have never built anything that large. I had seen this kit on display before, and was not a fan of how the body of the ship was designed… those fears quickly dissolved once I started building, and saw how solid the design was as I built the ship. My one problem is that the “smuggler’s hold” kept falling out. I solved that problem by using a few of the leftover extra parts to make a tighter fit. I’ve moved the model a few times since then, and the part has not fallen out. Problem solved. I also deviated slightly from the instructions in a few areas. Since I had a some left over parts from this and other builds, in the spirit of how the designers at ILM created the models for the original films, I did a little kit bashing on the exterior parts that open up, adding a little extra detail to the exterior. The other mod was: I had to put Han and Chewie in the cockpit, and because Chewie was too big, that took some work. I had to remove Chewie’s legs and attach two little pieces under his body so he would stick, and I had to pry one of his arms off… but as a fan of the original films, there was no other way to set up the minifigs. All in all, this was a fun build, and I highly recommend it. Next stop, Apollo Saturn V…
- This was one of my favourite lego sets of all time. Although it took quite a short time to build it over all was a great build to experience and play with. I love the way the top opens so you can see inside and the extra detail on the guns and the whole of the top. I would suggest this to a friend or family member.
- Bought this, paid for it to pick up in-store. Took ONE HOUR to pick up something I already paid for. I get the item home. A few days later, I go to wrap it and noticed some damage to the side of the package. Thought it was damaged during shipping – no big deal. Day after Christmas, my husband and son prepare to put it together. Noticed it was taped shut. Opened it to find pieces in zip lock bags and no instructions. How do we know if we have all the pieces?! Who puts this on the shelf to resell?!?! Really?? Going to try to exchange today. I’m sure this will take me another hour to accomplish. Will never use pick up in store again. Horrible service!!!
