Switching to Pure Balance: When you first bring your new companion home or when you change foods, your dog might need a little help getting used to his new food. It is important that the transition takes place gradually to allow your dog to adjust properly. Begin by adding a little of Pure Balance Grain Free Salmon & Pea Recipe Food for Dogs to your dog’s old food, and for the next 7-10 days, gradually increase the amount of new food while decreasing the old until you have 100% Pure Balance Grain Free Salmon & Pea Recipe Food for Dogs. Feeding Instructions: It’s a pure and simple fact that adult dogs have varying activity levels. That’s why this simple formula provides the complete and balanced nutrition that your dog needs to help keep him healthy and happy. While these are the recommended feeding ranges for moderately active dogs, you should adjust them as needed to help them maintain their optimum weight. Increase or decrease the serving size according to your dog’s size, age, weight, and activity level to maintain optimum body weight. Use the standard chart as a guide. 3-12 lb: 1/2 to 1-1/4 cups daily. 13-25 lb: 1-1/4 to 2 cups daily. 26-50 lb: 2 to 3-1/4 cups daily. 51-100 lb: 3-1/4 to 5-1/2 cups daily. 100 lbs+: 5-1/2 cups + 1/2 cup for every 10 lbs over 100 lb daily. Individual requirements may vary. Amount based on standard 8 ounce dry measuring cup. Weaning Puppies: Start puppies on Pure Balance Grain Free Salmon & Pea Recipe Food for Dogs as soon as they begin to chew solid food, usually 3-4 weeks of age. Allow them to eat as much as they want until fully weaned (6-8 weeks of age). Growing Puppies: After weaning, feed 2-3 times the recommended adult amount in three meals per day until 6 months of age, then twice daily until 12 months. Feed pregnant females 1.5 times the amount shown for their non-pregnant weight. Feed lactating females up to 3 times the amount shown for their non-pregnant weight. Food can be moistened to help encourage puppies to start eating solid food. To serve moistened, mix 1 part warm water (not hot) with 2 parts of Pure Balance Grain Free Salmon & Pea Recipe Food for Dogs and stir. If you choose to moisten, discard remaining food after 30 minutes to ensure product freshness. Close package tightly between feedings or store in an airtight container to keep product fresh. Remember to provide plenty of fresh water in a clean container at all times. Regular veterinary visits are recommended to ensure your dog’s good health.

- I have a 6 year old boxer who has recently been diagnosed with mega-esophagus without the grain free salmon food from pure balance I may have lost my girl to this handicap! I also have to shih Tzu older dogs I have switched them to this brand also. my question is can I receive coupons from anywhere for this brand I have to buy the puppy can food along with the largest bag to keep her weight up or I can lose her and buying both can be hard on us. please let us know and thank you.
- pros: pretty good, healthy dog food for the money. cons: stinks, 2 dollars cheaper in store.
- I have three dogs ranging from a 2 year old weighing 10 pounds to a 9 year old weighing 90 lbs. Pure Balance is the only food I give them, any of the grain free flavors. I have seen a huge difference since I switched 2 years ago and it’s all my baby has ever eaten.
- My son has a English bull dog with so many skin issues. This food has been a great way to remove allergins!
- My English bulldog loves this dogfood. Great price compared to other similar dogfood.
- Earlier this year I adopted a dog from my local animal shelter and could not understand why no one else had adopted her. It turns out she had some pretty serious ongoing skin allergies, which other potential adopters may not have wanted to take on. After trying several different dog foods (some pretty expensive) I decided to try the Pure Balance brand. We have had no problems since she has been on the grain free salmon version and she loves it! I purchase the 24 pound bags and would also purchase 30 pound bags if made available in the salmon, grain free.
- I have been searching for an affordable food that doesn’t skimp on quality. I found it!! My senior boxer loves it and I love that I can feed him a quality food without breaking the bank
- I’ve used several different kinds of food from the past, including Blue Buffalo which gave mine continuous diarrhea so I switched back to Pure Balance and they are fine. This food doesn’t cause any problems and you don’t have to feed as much as other foods. Excellent Healthy choice!! Julie Mobile Al.
- We have been feeding our 2 small dogs this food for about 6 months. They love it and I see a big difference in their coats. Our 9 year old Maltese’s coat started to get thin on the top or her back. After being on this food for 6 months it is now thicker. I have recommended this food to friends. I just tell them you have to get use to the fish breathe when they kiss you.
- I just bought the salmon recipe dog food for my German Shepard and the out come results were terrible my dog refuses to eat it it smells horrible and when my dog would try to eat it she would get diarrhea i am rather disappointed in this product and will not buy this again.
