- I would find it difficult to cook throughout the week with out my multi-cooker. It browns the meat and and at this point you can continue to cook as though on top of range or switch it over to a slow cooker mode. Mostly I cook entire meal in this cooker. I lay vegetables on top of wrack provided and place it over the meat to steam cook. One pot meal but food it separated. This would appeal to most.
- The multi-cooker was well-packaged and arrived in good condition. It’s too large to leave out if countertop space is limited, but is light enough to easily put in and take out of a cupboard. I like that it’s replacing a slow cooker and steamer. I’ve only used it for steaming so far. I hadn’t read the directions thoroughly and wasn’t expecting it to take 10 minutes to heat up before starting the actual steaming time, but now I know. My one complaint is the steamer rack. Because of the spacing of the wires, you can only steam large or long items on it. I cooked green beans and while they stayed on the rack while cooking, quite a bit fell through into the water when I used tongs to take them out. I bought a flexible silicone steamer insert to use instead when necessary.
- After my many years (I’m 75), I decided it was time to learn a slow cooker. I was always taught to purchase the best of an item you can afford so I read the reviews and this is the one. Making my first stew now. Must say I love the unit. Don’t love my recipe and I’m correcting the flavor now but that has nothing to do with the unit. Talk about a one pot cooker. I browned the meat with the brown/saute setting and then you just push the button to go to low or high cook and set the timer. Nothing complicated about it at all. I even decided to cook it a little longer so put it in the fridge overnight right in the pot and then I turned on the brown/saute setting to heat it up fast and switched to low again and adjusted seasoning. No fuss, no mess. If you want a slow cooker/crock pot, go for the best. It’s also a small footprint and attractive on the counter and I hate things on the counter.
- The multi-features on this cooker add a whole new dimension to cooking. First I use the sauteing feature to braise meats and/or vegetables, after adding additional ingredients, I reduce heat as if stewing, then lastly, I change to slow cooker. The stews taste so much better, and I have more control over temperatures.
- Excellent instruction book. Easy to program. Steams, browns and slow cooks. Brown the meat and go right to slow cook for an awesome chili waiting for you when you get home. All in one pot. Electric cord length is long enough to reach outlet. Outer unit gets warm but not hot. Felt comfortable leaving on counter with no fire hazard. Vents in back and legs are cool to touch. 6 quarts is enough room to stir and family of 5 all enjoyed the dinners.
- Love the design, with the glass cover. I like that you can set a temp for searing. Had a Ninja and it has a solid cover and settings are just low-med-hi. also the lighted controls are nice.
- DO NOT BUY THIS!! The only reason they got one star is because it won’t let me give zero. Got it for Christmas went to use it for the first time one week later. Plugged it in, it turned on but I was unable to adjust time or temperature the screen just remained blank. I sat on hold for 54 minutes with cuisinart for them to tell me they would send me a new one, but I would be responsible for the shipping and handling. I told them to forget it, I’m returning this and will never use their products again. Such a disappointment. On hold I also got to listen to them list all of the products on recall as well as the ones that need replacement parts because they didn’t work. Don’t know how this thing got good reviews.
