- The device makes an alarm when I push the test button. As far as I know it will probably detect the hazards that it is designed for.
- Thought the battery back up would last longer. Wish I had been told it was not meant for primary use. Other than that it works fine.
- This is a fine product to protect your family from colorless and odorless carbon monoxide gas. Carbon monoxide gas is more rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream than oxygen. Left undetected, unspeakable health consequences can ensue. This alarm also detects the presence of explosive gases, natural and lp. Now we know that we can smell them when awake, but what about when we are sleeping? I for one don’t want to take a chance and risk an explosion while we are sleeping. I want to wake to the warning alarm and take action! This alarm has a nice form factor, smaller than the Kidde Night Hawk which I have previously owned. The display remains dark unless alarm or testing conditions exist, whereas the Night Hawk continuously maintains a display even when operating on battery back up. The LED display just eats up battery power when no alarm condition exists. On more than one occasion the low battery alarm has sounded after an extended power failure. I find this a bother given the battery power appears to be diminished sooner than it should. This alarm also features an end of life notification on the display which makes it easy to know when the unit needs to be replaced. The Night Hawk also has this feature, but it displays Error whereas this unit displays End. End is much more meaningful to me. The last nice feature is the battery guage built into the display. It is easy to guage if the battery needs replacing.
- It took somesome time to understand installation requirements. However, it is worth all the effort to save lives.
- Unit appears to work fine but the instructions included in the package were for a smoke alarm. I had to go on line to get the correct ones.
- The carbon monoxide detector I had was 7 years old and the end of life signal came on, so I needed to replace it. I found this one , and it was just what I was s looking for. It detected carbon monoxide PLUS it detects natural gas or propane gas ! I got this one because it does both, and I don’t have to worry about it. It plugs in to the wall and has battery back-up. This is what I wanted and more!
- Doesn’t even work with the battery, only the electric outlet. Taking it back.
