- After putting in the batteries, this clock set itself. I was concerned that the clock wouldn’t keep good time because it wasn’t on a northwest facing wall. But it works great on the SW wall. No issues. No ticking sound.
- Hi all. I have had the clock up on the wall for around two weeks now, and it is SO COOL to watch the hands do their thing when the first ‘connect’ cycle happens. It’s almost SPOOKY! You need to be PATIENT and give the clock a few days, or maybe a week or so, to get it’s act together. For about five days, it was a bit SLOW, by around three mins. I decided to just LEAVE IT ALONE, and right now as I sit here writing this, it is about ten SECONDS FAST, referring to my radio that is ALWAYS within +/- 3 seconds… no foolin’, it is THAT accurate! Any who, I am glad I left the clock alone. At midnight, the thing STOPS the second hand EXACTLY on 12, while the minute hand and hour hand continue to do their things. I keep trying to SEE when the second hand starts back up again, but I look away, forget about it, and when I think to look back again a half-hour or more later, there it is, going normal again. I did not bother with trying to figure out where the place is you are SUPPOSE to make sure the clock is FACING to receive the signal. I just put it up over the fireplace here in the living room. I live in the north-west of MA, USA, and all seems to be working well. Lemme think_ the BACK of the clock is facing towards the NORTH. Again, all I know is all seems to be fine. I have NO CARE if one day it’s a bit fast or slow, as long as it EVENTUALLY re-sets to close to the correct time, within say ten seconds. I would absolutely recommend this to friends or family. - I did not know what “radio controlled” meant when I purchased the clock. It is supposed to set the time itself after you put a fresh battery in, set the area of the country you live in, and leave it overnight near a window. The next morning the minute hand was correct but the hour hand was 3 hours ahead. We live in the east so no other time zone should be ahead of us. Then we had to figure out how to manually set it as there is no knob to turn. Another problem was that you are not supposed to hang it within 6 feet of the TV and we bought it to hang over our TV. So we had to find anther spot for it. However, now that it is in the right place and properly set, all is well!
- I received the clock on Friday 17 June. I followed the instructions which said it should be in sync within 5 days. It was not and after 7 days I phoned Lacrosse and the lady patiently walked me through setting it up and after 15 minutes said it would be working okay. I even went out and bought an Alkaline battery as per her request. I got up next morning and it was not even close. I packed it up and Walmart refunded my purchase price. I had a Daniel Dakota which from day one worked for 5 years before it died. This clock should have worked, since it was on the same nail that the Dakota hung from.
