- What an amazing set. I can’t get over how great it looks from all angles! I love the printed deck plates, the minifigure display stand, and the impressive size! The micro builds look quite nice as well. The build is good, but can be slightly repetitive when constructing the four turbo fans. One tip that I think you might need is TAKE YOUR TIME when building the gear system that allows all four turbo fans to spin. Make sure everything is in the perfect place to ensure a smooth action. In the end, this is a great set to add to your UCS LEGO collection and is a must have for Marvel fans!
- I bought this set only as a second choice when the Sandcrawler was retired the day before I went to purchase it. And, boy, am I glad I did. The build was 27 hours spread over 9 days, as I like to savour the enjoyment and is, without a doubt, the most challenging and technical I’ve had yet. The detail is amazing and the gearing system is a joy to behold, simple but effective. I also bought the power functions for the lights and rotors, but I adapted how I fitted them as I didn’t want to have to remove the deck plate every time I wanted to turn them on. My solution was to fit the motor as per the instructions but I then dropped the wires down behind the large starboard hull plate with the 64 numbering. The battery pack can then sit at the rear of the display stand for easier access. This can be done prior to assembling and fitting the hull plate or at the end of the build as the plate is still easily removed and refitted. The end result is staggering in both size and beauty, just make sure you have plenty of room as the finished article measures 32 inches long, 17 inches wide and 11 inches high, including the stand. A few minor quibbles would be the lack of any Iron Man, Thor or Hulk figures in a set which is emblazoned with The Avengers name and logo. Also there is no hull plating at the stern which looks incomplete and there is also a round space in the hull at the stern as if originally there was too be another element, which was then scrapped. I thought maybe it could have housed the chamber used to imprison Loki. Again, these are minor quibbles which in no way detract from a great set
- I had been wanting this set for almost six months before I finally splurged and got it. The weight of the box alone will tell you what you are getting. I usually build in the evenings after work, dinner and dogs. I sit down, watch a movie and build. I do not keep track of the time when I build. I try to finish a whole numbered bag at a time though. The detail is there during the entire build. I like how the turbines spin and how easy it is to make it all work. I build these sets just as art pieces in my house. Once they are built they are never played with and rarely touched. This is a great addition to anyones collection of big Lego sets! Lego, please bring back the UCS Falcon!
- Fun build! It was really interesting to see how they designed this set, and how they made use of the pieces. I watched the movies while building and realized that the details they were able to get into this model are impressive! One potential downside is that this model is better suited for display than play. It’s awkward to hold and not sturdy enough to survive very much. My main suggestion/complaint however is that the instructions are all in one 400+ page manual! This model would be perfect to share the build with (and cut the time!), but with only one copy of the manual you are stuck building in a linear fashion. The microscale builds, the bridge, the upper deck and the rotors could all easily be built by another person while the main hull is being built.
- It was a Christmas gift. I took my time building not to rush it. I took 2 days to complete. I also received the motor with lights which is really cool. I enjoyed building and now playing with it.
- Received this set as a gift for Christmas after eyeballing it since it first hit the shelf. Great segmentation of component builds made it a breeze to put together. Love the details of spinning propellers, command center, carrier tower, and even the little forklifts and such for the carrier deck.
- The best marvel superhero set i have built so cool from the mini figures to the micro figures if you are thinking off buying it don’t think get it be for it’s gone a must for marvel & avengers fans
- I purchased the Marvel series Helicarrier along with the power function for the turbine to spin. However, after 70% into the building process, I installed the power function (motor) and the turbine does not spin (or very little movement). The instruction was lacking in detail so I have to figure out the issue myself. Upon hours of investigation, I found out that the motor wasn’t strong enough to turn the big gear that turns the smaller gears to make all turbines spin. The Helicarrier looks amazing but the power function that came with it isn’t suitable at all. If anyone is thinking of buying the helicarrier along with the power function components, you might want to think again.
