- I was having lunch at a friend’s and noticed she had Pyrex. Everyone was saying they are old-fashioned but she said they work better than plastic and are safer for the environment. I decided to order some and discard most of my plastic containers because they get stained, they get misshapen when used in the microwave and they are not environmentally friendly. I love the pyrex! I can see what’s in the container, they are easy to clean, dishwasher safe, durable AND I can serve in them.
- It’s Pyrex, so you can bake in it. Then you can serve in it. Then you can store in it — with the pretty pop-on lid! You can freeze in it, too! It’s great!!
- I don’t normally use glass storage bowls, but I thought these would be good for convenient reheating in the microwave. That works with only one problem. If you leave the plastic lid on while heating, when you take it out, it deforms as the bowl cools. You need the lid to avoid splatters, else you have to use another plate to cover the bowl. Take the lid off as soon as you remove it from the oven and it stays deformed. After that it never fits as well as before.
- I used this product once and for my surprise the cover almost melted after 1 minute in the microwave! I said what? I bought other products like the Pyrex pro and was OK no problem at all but this one I would not buy anymore. Now I have the glasses but not the covers. I am not happy with this purchase.
