- I received a free sample of this bike to review, and my 10-year old son absolutely loves it! Right away, he loved the bright orange color and “cool design.” He thought that the bike “zooms,” but that it also “brakes really well.” It’s a comfortable fit for his size (he’s exactly average height). The bike is sturdy, seems well put-together and meets my expectations for quality (he just likes that it rides well and looks cool!). My son has tried a lot of different bikes, and he says that this one is his favorite-he has continued to ride it every day since we had it put together. The neighbor boys came over to try it out and they thought it was a great bike, too. The one thing I didn’t like was that I wasn’t able to assemble it-I had to take it to a bike shop. I’m not really a handy person, so that was probably a factor. So, if I could improve anything it would be ease of assembly. Overall, I would definitely recommend the bike, and so would my son.
- I received a free sample for the review. My 12 year son really likes this bike. When we opened the box, we noticed the color is great being vibrant orange and it has cool mag wheels. It comes in the box needing assembly but since I’m not great with that, I took it to Walmart to assemble and picked it up a few days later. It is a heavy bike at 32 lbs so to eliminate having to lug it back to the store, you can order the bike and have it shipped to store where they can assemble it and then you don’t need to touch it until it’s put together. I was impressed with how well the bike is put together. The bike has steel frame and is very sturdy. The ride is smooth and stops easily. It is 21 speeds. The seat adjusts easily. We have owned several Mongoose bikes and they have always been very reliable. Since it’s a mountain bike, it is good on many terrains. Overall my son really likes this bike and will enjoy it for several years until the next Mongoose!
