I was a little worried about getting this tent due to some negative reviews but I am so glad that I ended up deciding to do it. We first set the tent up outside the house to spray the seams with waterproofing because we thought that it might rain on or trip. It took us about 20 minutes to set up and it was just as simple to take down. on our camping trip it set up just as easy with me and my wife. My wife is 5’4″ and she did most of the work because I was still recovering from my back surgery and could not bend or twist. We had it up in 15 minutes. Absolutely no problems. It was exactly what we expected. It looks nice and is huge. We fit a queen sized air mattress in it and had plenty of room to spare. we even watched a movie in it and had 6 people inside with relative comfort. Buy a couple more metal stakes for it and a tarp to go underneath to make sure that you don’t puncture the floor. We will be camping again in 2 weeks and I’m thinking about making a video to show set up.
Nice great big tent. Most difficulty with set up were the heavier side poles (very difficult to snap together with no bend). Also the D rings on these poles started to rust, only with three days use, but a fair amount of rain. Withstood some strong winds & rain. Front porch is not very big, but overall we were satisfied.
Super easy to set up, looks very nice, very lite. as far as those who say that their tent has crashed down or having problems with wind gusts, we just put it up last night and today we have very high winds and it has not budged. as long as you set it up as said in the directions you wont have a problem. make sure that when you assemble it you pull the corners tight then when you stake down the side guide lines is that you pull them snuggly and you shouldn’t have a problem. one thing that we noticed is that there are two shorter fiberglass rods that are labeled (on the directions )as B and C, they are not interchangeable and they are not labeled on the poles. they look like they are the same size, they aren’t! you may just have to switch the places easy fix. other than that one small thing its easy to put up, stands against the winds very well
Bought this tent at our local Wal-Mart back in February. Back in March of this year me and my oldest son used the tent for the first time in our back yard. The temperature went down to 31 degrees that night. We had some good sleeping bags and some air mattress. It took about 45 minutes for myself to set the tent up. In April me and my wife went on a camping trip in Western Kentucky in Land Between the Lakes. On that day it took me about 25 minutes to setup the tent by-self. That night there was about 4 storms that went thru the area. The tent held up good the wind was strong, as long as you stake out the lines good and leave a little vent in two of the windows it should hold up good.
Bought this last year as my 5th tent, needed the extra room as the family grew. We took it to the Sand Dunes and it worked great. I am very tall and I loved how I could stand up in it. Took it out this year and a storm started blowing in while we were setting up the tent. A light wind snapped both of the main supports and left us without a place to sleep. I had friends sleeping in my 3 person MSR tent, it held up fine.
