- I previously had the 2-piece cheaper Coleman folding cot, with fabric looped over the frame, and it decayed and ripped longways after only 6 months of use. So I was hesitant to buy another Coleman. However, this convertacot is proving to be worth the cost. I use ConvertaCot mainly as an adjustable high strength sun chair. I am 6’3″ and it is comfortable though slightly shorter than me, and handles my 200lb weight easily. Has 3 adjustable sections and the bungee connection of fabric to the frame, which provides springy comfort, and is excellent as a sun chair, cot, or spare travel chair/bed.. Adjusts to 3 reclining head positions and flat, though you have to get out of the chair to adjust.
- This item is exactly as described and very sturdy. I bought it to use as a lounge chair and haven’t actually slept in it to see how it performs as a camping cot yet. My only critique is that it is a little cumbersome to adjust the angle of the back – you can’t just adjust it while you are sitting in it. You have to get up and move it to the desired angle and snap both sides in to the locked position. Other than that, I think this is a great purchase and will hold up for multiple years of use.
- This product was perfect for my wife! We had an older one that would not go totally flat – didn’t work well.
- I use this cot as an extra guest bed, and for car camping. It sets up easily if you open it upside down and then turn it over. I do find that it feels best with a sleeping pad ontop for softness. Also, when using it to sleep on, it is best to put your head on the leg end. I also put a backpack or other object under the unsupported end so that it does not tip if someone sits on that end.
- I got this chair/cot last week. I thought it might come with directions or some kind of product information but there was nothing in the box. It seems like good quality as Coleman is usually known for. It folds up really small which is also nice. The only downside is that the chair/cot is kind of hard to fold-out. The material is so tight on the chair that it is almost hard for 1 person to fold out the legs and configure the chair/cot in the different positions. You almost need 2 people to keep the ends of the chair from closing up on you. Maybe because the chair is brand new, the fabric will stretch over time and become easier to open. Hard to tell being that I just purchased it. I think the quality is good and the chair/cot will last for a long time, but I’m not sure if I would have bought this chair/cot knowing how hard it is to fold open. I’m gonna use it as a lounge chair to lay near the pool on the weekends. I don’t really want to have to wrestle with the chair every time to get it open & laid out. If you plan on using it frequently, I would probably suggest a different chair/cot from Coleman or other brand. If you only use it on camping trips a few times a year, then it is probably perfect for you.
- The part that interlocks for the different positions should not be made of plastic. The part cracked on first use and I am a small, light weight person.
