• The coolaroo market umbrella is used on our patio. We love it. The umbrella’s fabric blocks the sun but allows the air to flow through. This purchase was a replacement of a coolaroo market umbrella that we had had for many years.
• This umbrella is great. Appears to be of good quality, the pole is big and strong to hold the extra feet of shade. The only downside is that it is bigger than a standard umbrella pole and thus needs a special base. We ordered one at the same time, but it was too small. Look for a base that can handle a pole that is 2 inches plus in diameter. They are out there – you just have to be specific on the size. We had to take the plastic ring from the table, but the hole was sufficient for the pole. Good heavy duty ribs and pulley system to raise and lower this huge umbrella. Now everybody sitting around the table can be in the shade — a good thing in central Florida.
• Became familiar with this Coolaroo fabric while shopping for an outdoor umbrella for our patio table. Love it and the breathable fabric. Love this “smoke” color. Some places it’s described as gray – – but I would call it a taupe. This was important to me because I did not want gray. 🙂 Very well made from top to bottom and like that it has a hand-crank to raise and lower.
• This umbrella does not function as an umbrella in that it lets rain right through the fabric and only filters the sun, does not block it.
