WE bought 2 of these after hurricane Matthew had us struggling to keep our cell phones charged. modern car tech dumly would not let us leave them plugged in and charging in the car and also allow the car to be locked for security, an open invitation to thieves. ordered these emergency chargers which arrived within days. had about 20% charge as received but were up to 100% after 4 hours plugged in at home, there are indicator lights to show state of charge. very robust units and ideal s backup for our needs but hopefully we have done with hurricanes and power outages for a while. . .
This power bank appears really rugged. I have taken it biking, hiking, and kayaking and it is still working well. I have a Samsung S4. I ran the phone down to the 15% warning twice and the 3rd time down past that to 10%. It recharged the phone those 3 times before I had to recharge the power bank. That’s with the power bank still being pretty new. I expect it will get a little better after a few more cycles.
Sturdy quality materials, does what it is advertised to do…nice product.
It charges slow, and the compass is faulty. Besides that, it does what it is meant to do.
I was excited to try and review this FOS Power Active Charger. Sometimes I’m really busy and I need a charger for my phone especially when I’m not near an electrical outlet. A product like this is really handy to have. It can charge an iPhone 4-5 times and a Galaxy phone up to 2-3 times. For me, that is plenty! I have mixed reviews on this product. It works great as a backup power source…that’s what makes it valuable. It comes with a carabiner clip and compass, none of which is highly helpful to me, but what the heck, it’s a free addition. It comes with a black USB charging cable but no plug. You’ll have to either use one that you already have or purchase one. An additional feature is a flashlight. The light is so tiny to be of any real assistance. I have acrylic fingernails, so flipping open the ports seal cover was a little tight. This is definitely designed for someone more rugged than myself, judging from the design of the product and the inclusion of a compass, mini flashlight and its design to withstand 3 ft/1m of water for 30 minutes. This is one heavy-duty charger! The unit is a bit bulky and the yellow/black coloration reminds me of the DeWalt line of tools in the home improvement section of my local Walmart store. It’s a little heavier than I expected, but with its charging capacity, it’s worthwhile and a good, reliable product.
This FosPower 10200mAh 2.1A Waterproof Portable Power Bank Battery Charger is a great little backup charger. I have bought cheaper ones that run down before they even put a full charge on my phone. This one will charge my phone completely and at not a bad rate. I have also used it charge and run my portable blue tooth speaker when out an about around the campfire and have no power source. It is great in case of emergencies when the power goes out and u need to keep your devices charged. It seems to be very sturdy and in a nice shock proof and water proof case, although I haven’t dropped it in water yet to test it but I have had it in the rain and had no problems. It has a nice snap close bottom to protect the charging ports when not in use. The charger also has a built in led light which is handy for anything. Another good feature this charger has is that it has green l.e.d. lights to let you know how much of a charge it has and when it is done charging itself. It does take a little while for the unit itself to charge but once it is it holds a charge for weeks. Also, it comes with a small compass and a D ring clip to attach to a back pack or belt loop or whatever you want. Very nice charger for the outdoors person. I carry it while hunting.
Anyone needing a charger that performs well under any circumstance will be very impressed with this product. While charging an iPhone 6s, this product took approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to go from 9 percent to 100 percent. When using the charger that came with the device, it took 1 hour and 10 minutes to get to the max. The difference in time is minimal, but if you’re not near an outlet, this is the product for you. But what sets this apart from most chargers is its durability. In a personal test, the FosPower Charger was dropped from 3 different heights onto a hard surface: 1) Off a desk, 2) From pants pocket and 3) Held above head (approximately 6-1/2 feet). In all tests, the charger worked just as described above. The final test was placing the product under water for 1/2 hour and allow it to completely dry (about a hour). Once again, the charger lived up to its billing by recharging the phone completely. The product comes fully charged and it is recommended that it be recharged every six months when not in use. Flashing lights inform you when the product needs charging. As an added bonus, there is a working compass for the outdoors person on its handle. Overall, this product get a top rating for performing exactly as promised by the manufacturer.
This is a waste of money. First, I had to charge at least 5 hours or more before using. Once used & power source low & have to power again.
