- Well, maybe not so little – the capacity is enough for the tea party. I had this kettle for more then a year, bought one for my parents, and recently – for my daughter. All are very pleased with it – it looks nice, durable, reliable, and boiling water super fast.
- I am ordering another Hamilton Beach 1.7 L Stainless Steel tea kettle today to replace a similar model I purchased almost 4 years ago from WalMart. I used it almost daily for this period of time with great results until the on/off switch on the base stopped working. The 2 year warranty I purchased with the appliance turned out to be waste of money, so I will not purchase a warranty again and just consider this appliance to be a medium term disposable item to replace after a few years use. It does work very well and heats water extremely fast, so I would recommend Hamilton Beach for this reason. I considered buying a glass version of this stainless steel version until I read negative reviews about difficulty in cleaning, a fragile lid, and the inability to add water immediately to boil again due to potential glass breakage. The stainless steel version is thus more durable, and like glass, will not effect the taste of your tea or coffee with any accompanying metallic taste. Its a good product and a Best Buy for the money. I recommend it.

- I don’t like electric kettles that have anything but a smooth surface inside the kettle and this one had a little pipe on the inside, so I chose the Hamilton Beach 1.7 L programmable kettle instead of this one. The inside on the programmable one was completely smooth.
