This is battery powered fan with an adapter so you can plug into the wall it takes 6 D batteries which gives the fan substantial weight so will not fall over not the fan blows hard enough to blow itself over it worked very well it ran for four nights before I change the batteries and I only change the batteries because it was easier For me to do it then my wife who is in a nursing home from an accident where she had to have a battery powered fan only this is a great fan for those purposes
Love these fans! I bought 2 during Florida’s very busy 2004 hurricane season to have on hand during power outages, and have used them a lot since then. They are wonderful for camping, or wherever you don’t have access to power. I’ve also used them a lot in the house when we had power, but wanted to avoid the hazard of someone tripping over a cord. They take 6 D cell batteries, but they seem to last forever. The fans also come with a power cord, and I’ve used them a lot like that. O2Cool also makes a 5″ size, but I really like the 10″. I just purchased 2 more following a recent lengthy outage in our area.
I ordered this fan after my power was out for 20 hours. I received it several days before the delivery date, which is always a pleasant surprise. I was pleased by the size and the air flow that it puts out. It is also very quiet while running. Fortunately, I haven’t had occasion to use it, but am glad that I have it if and when I do.
Want to try this for the bathroom window.. Used batteries and worked just the way I needed, been using it off and on for over a week and there was a couple days forgot to turn it off for hours and still good on the same batteries.
This is a great fan with a nice airflow. I can’t attest to how long the batteries will last because I’m still on my first set. I work in a warehouse setting several times a week and, of course, we have no electric in our section. I upgraded to this fan from an O2Cool 5″ fan. Loved it and the batteries lasted a long time as it only took 2 D. This fan does come with an adaptor if you’d like to use it that way. Would definitely recommend for camping, too!
I am returning it! It works fine with adapter, but does not work on batteries. I bought it to use when power goes out. Therefore, it is of no use to me. I already have an electric fan.
