The Braun Silk-epil 5280 Epilator is designed for efficient, long-lasting and gentle hair removal. The new Silk-epil 5 is ideal for women who are new to epilation. It includes Close-Grip technology with 40 tweezers that removes short and fine hair. It also has a Comfort System with massage rollers that stimulates the skin, plus a cooling glove to soothe after epilation.

- So far, I don’t have any complaints. If you don’t think any epilator will hurt, then you’re sadly mistaken. But, you can get used to the pain, it gets easier with every use for me. It does what it says, and does it well. The attachments are a nice bonus, and so is the ice pack. The cord is a decent length, and everything fits nicely inside a little sac when not in use. Very happy, just wish I had bought it sooner.
- I used a previous version of Braun silk-epil and I was contented with it. I used it for 11 years, and when I needed a new one, I again went for a Braun epilator. I am quite satisfied with this one, too. It has more apparatuses than the previous that can be used for different parts of the body. It is faster. It has a movable head which I liked so much since it makes shaving easy for especially arms. The light is also an addition in this product. Since I wasn’t feeling pain in my old epilator, I don’t feel pain with this one, too, but I think it is a subjective matter since sensitivity degree of each person is different. So, I can suggest Braun 5280 without hesitation.
- This is a good quality product. Very good results and causes minimal pain, too.
- Great item and it works. Gets every hair and my skin is smooth. At first, there was that “ouch” factor, because it feels like several tweezers are yanking at the same time. But I got used to it fast, and didn’t have a problem at all. Once the area is smooth, there’s no more ouch or pain, so you know you finished that area. This is good for me, because I can do areas that are hard for me to see, like the very back of my legs. I can depend on the machine to either ouch-me or run smooth. Very happy I bought this.
- It’s really painful more like than waxing. But this product is really good out of other epilators at this price.
- Very well designed and built. Made in Germany. Need I say more? The light is invaluable, for it alone allows you to see what’s gone and what still needs to go. Yes, it is somewhat uncomfortable for a first time user, but the results are well worth it!
- I like it and i use it regularly. The only thing is i am facing a problem of lot of ingrown hair on my legs after using it. Hair which grows under the skin and hard to take them out with epilator. So the only reason i am not giving 5 star is it is a cause of ingrown hair.
- I just got the absolute worst service from Braun. I sent my epilator in to the service center, and it came back in pieces that I couldn’t put back together. They couldn’t explain it to me over the phone, so they suggested I download the manual and/or that I call the 800 number for Braun. I couldn’t find a manual for my model which isn’t more than 2 years old. The closest manual didn’t look like my model. I tried to call the 800 number and waited on hold for an hour and 45 minutes. When someone finally did answer, I complained about the hold time and then proceeded to explain my problem. I got as far as here’s my problem when the line went dead. Of course by that time, they were closed.
