- The only reason this doesn’t get 5 stars is there are too many sticks and other debris in the bag lately. I know all black oil seed brands have this issue, and the price here is much better than I used to pay for a different brand, but the debris is an issue and takes lots of time to remove to prevent the feeders from jamming. I wish these companies could come up with a filtration system to catch the debris! If I add up all the hours it takes me to remove the debris, they would owe me a lot of money!

- My bird friends can’t get enough of the Black Oil Sunflower Seeds. My apartment is right next to a large forest. The predominant species of birds that come to my feeder are Cardinals, Tufted Titmouse, Black and White striped Warbler, Blue Jay, and many other indigenous winter birds for this part of Ohio.
- I want to thank Walmart for being able to ship 40# bags of sunflower seeds directly to our home. As we are up in age it is difficult to buy at the store, haul home, unload from trunk and then put away. - I only feed black oil seed and have tried many brands at many prices. This is the best price around and most important is the seeds are nice and black, a nice size, and there are not a lot of the stalk in it. Also not dusty, some are awful. I would recommend Pennington Black Oil Sunflower Seeds to all my family and friends.!

- Seeds can be very expensive. Some seeds are thrown out of the feeder and wasted. The black oil sunflower seeds are all eaten. I have seen the same birds who previously fed on the older type of feed and and now new species are feeding too. (No loss of the usual birds feeding) Seeds are a good quality for bird feeding. Considering what I’ve spent on much smaller sized bags of bird feed, this is quite a savings. I’ll probably continue to use this product as long as it’s available. (Gave one bag to my Dad, and he prefers this product to what he was purchasing) I’m very happy I discovered this product.
- Says on bag it is the preferred seed (by the birds I guess). Mom says the birds don’t seem to care for it. It is way cheaper buying it in the bigger bag.
