- Product is great. As expected from the Lodge people. Saved about $30 overall by ordering from WM.com and having it shipped to the store.
- Everyone knows Lodge’s quality and Made in the USA cast iron is the best in the market. And at $60 the best buy if you find it on sale (which I was pleasantly surprised that Walmart did). Shipping was very quick in a few days to my local Walmart.

- Outdoor cooking has always been a hobby of mine. The Lodge Dutch oven that I purchased from Walmart was easy to use, it was pre seasoned and ready to cook! I cooked Coca cola Chicken which my family and company thoroughly enjoyed! Clean up was easy! I look forward to trying many more entrees and deserts in it!
- Wow, this is one hefty beauty to cook your a whole chicken and other meats. I got this deep DO rather than the classic 6 quart (shallow) one so I can cook taller cuts of meat without having to trim them down. For a long time, I hesitated in buying this style of camp DO since I was worried about the legs tangling in my stovetop grate but that was a needless worry. I just remove the grate and put the dutch oven directly on the flat drip tray. In this configuration, the DO sits about 1/8″ above my grates so no worries about not getting enough heat from the gas flames. For oven baking, I just put a 12″ feed pan (or a cookie sheet) under the DO to provide a flat surface for the legs. I also take off the top rack to give me more room for maneuvering. This DO comes with a care/recipe book so you have lots of tips on how to clean & maintain it. There are also simple DO recipes for newbies and a chart of how many charcoals to use to reach a desired temperature. Since this is a deep DO, be sure to add 2 – 4 more coals to the top & bottom to better heat up the taller interior. Most of the charcoal charts are geared toward the shallow DOs.
